The Martin County School District Gifted Curriculum has four goals, including developing higher level thinking skills, developing research and communication skills, increasing self-understanding and engaging in exploratory activities.  The program is designed to challenge the students through special curricula, enrichment activities, accelerated course content, and development of the higher cognitive and affective processes.  The units of study offered depend upon the state curriculum mandates and students ages, talents, needs, interests, and intellectual potential.

Training

Martin County School District Inservice is available to all teachers of the gifted.  Inservice depending on the needs of the teachers of the gifted is offered twice a year specifically for them.
